MY ROLE

Art direction and UX strategy for a full end to end desktop experience with mobile explorations

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This was an exploratory project created for a potential surfing and kite boarding company. I developed the logo, UI/UX design, advertisements, e-mail banner (footer), as well as some photo retouching and adjustments. I was responsible for decisions concerning the color palette, as well as the general concept behind the branding.

Inspiration behind the idea

My dad happens to be an avid kite boarder, so for fun, I wanted to conceptualize an E-commerce experience for purchasing kite boarding equipment through a small business company. Along with creating the merchandise selection experience, I also wanted to represent what the business owner profile could look like in addition to marketing splashes for upcoming events and news in the kiteboarding world.

Responsiveness considerations

Though the emphasis was on creating a desktop solution, I began to explore how this experience could adapt to various devices, mainly tablet and above.

Mobile app considerations

I took an extra step to consider what a mobile app experience could be for owners and tracking their own sales and analytics. In addition to creating a profile view with their sales log, I also imagined that there could be other integrations like: wind forecasts, a merchandise page and an events page (similar to the desktop experience).
